Our Story

Roxie’s is a 2nd generation, family owned business. It has history in Roxbury and Stoughton, before opening the current store on Southern Artery in Quincy.

Owners Ed and Al Rubin grew up in Roxie’s. Back in the 1960s, their dad, Marty, used to take them into the Boston wholesale meat & produce market to teach how to select the best items. They started working for their dad and uncles at the age of 14, working after school and on weekends. Both started working full time in 1975. Al managed the Stoughton store and Ed managed the Quincy location.

In 1985, Marty and his brothers, Dave and Saul, decided to retire and sell both stores. Ed and Al convinced them to sell the Quincy store to them. They signed an agreement and the sale went through in December of 1986.

“Five Stars!”

Great place! Lots of low-cost, high-quality meats! Always shop here first.

Best place in Quincy to buy meat!

Variety of food always something new to find. All staff members are happy to help you.

John was really helpful on the phone and when I went there in person, he explained and showed me what I should be looking for when picking out the best cut of brisket…I definitely felt more comfortable picking something worth smoking after speaking with John some more about it. Thank you for making my first time experience in Roxie’s a positive one!…Will definitely come back.
